Frontiers of HCI

CHItaly is the Biannual Conference of the Italian SIGCHI Chapter. It is open to both members and non-members. The CHItaly edition of 2021 is the 14th of the series and will be hosted in Bolzano.

The theme of the conference is “frontiers of HCI“.

Traditionally, CHItaly has addressed HCI scholars working in the Mediterranean and central European countries. The aim of CHItaly 2021 is to attract contributions from further geographical and research areas, so as to overcome frontiers and cross-fertilise areas.

To reach its aim, firstly, the conference has an international committee, e.g., with internationalisation chairs from Spain, Portugal, Austria, Finland besides Italy.

Secondly, the conference solicits contributions from diverse communities relevant for HCI—e.g., design and arts, making communities, besides computer science, engineering and psychology. To attract different participants, the conference strives to offer a rich and varied format, besides the standard research format of paper sessions.

In particular, the interactive experience, poster and demo sessions of CHItaly 2021 are planned as open to citizens so as to disclose research and foster public engagement, overcoming frontiers between research innovators, educators and society.
